Leave a Mark That Lasts for Generations

Happy Sunday, Tribe.

Leave a mark that matters. This weekend has been a whirlwind of opposing emotions—love, life, loss, and legacy. It has reminded me once again of our “why.”

❓ Why do we choose to live this lifestyle, even when it’s hard?
❓ Why is it so important to lead by example?
❓ Why do I want to imprint this way of living on everyone I love?

As a wife, a mom, a nana, a health coach, and a lover of life, I see it clearly—we are here to build generational health.

Health is more than just the physical body—it is spiritual, emotional, and generational. It is the impact we leave behind, the lessons we teach, and the love we pour into those around us.

This weekend, I had the blessing of witnessing all three.

A Life Well-Lived, A Mark Well Left

We had the privilege of attending a funeral for Lance’s Aunt Barb. She lived a beautiful life, but to those who loved her, her time still felt far too short.

Laubacher Stained glass window at church

The Laubacher name in the beautiful stained glass window of their church.

The ceremony was held in a small, beautiful Catholic church, filled with generations of love and devotion. As I walked in, I felt something profound—I am blessed and honored to be a part of this family with deep roots, unwavering faith, and a legacy that stretched through time.

To my right, the stained-glass window bore the Laubacher name. Generations before had sat in these pews, whispered prayers in this sacred space, prayed through their struggles and passed down their faith, love, and devotion to the next.  You can almost hear the prayers as family members thank God for the blessings, and ask for guidance through life’s challenges.  This may be common to some, but I wasn’t raised in a church, so this is truly beautiful to witness.

As the service began, I couldn’t help but see it—the evidence of a life well-lived.

Lance’s beautiful cousins, Aunt Barb’s daughters, sat broken yet full of love. Their strength, grace, beauty and faith were woven into them through their mother’s love and wisdom.  A strength that only a mother could instill into her girls.  A grace that comes from The Lord and a faith handed down from their loving parents, through the generations.

The young men—sons, grandsons, nephews, cousins—stood with quiet honor. In their handsome suits and solemn expressions, they supported their mothers, sisters, cousins, and grandmother with unwavering strength and love.  The respect the men in this family carries, is nothing short of amazing.  I am so blessed to be married to one of them.  Watching how Lance’s dad has carried this honor through his family as a husband, father, and grandfather, just shows how this kind of love, grows the men every parent would be proud of, and every women deserves.  I feel so blessed to have one.

This is generational health in action.

Aunt Barb left a mark. A mark that will not fade.

A Farm Full of Love, Laughter, and Memories

Amidst the sadness, there was something beautifully joyful—the memories shared by Lance and his cousins and aunts and uncles.

As they laughed and reminisced about their childhood on the farm, I could see it—the pure joy in their faces, the light in their eyes as they traveled back in time sharing memories of love.

I listened as they told stories of growing up surrounded by Aunt Barb’s love, their wild adventures, their mischief, and the lessons they learned along the way.

💛 The big family meals that came out of that tiny kitchen.
💛 The sled riding with the cousins.
💛 Long summer days filled with adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of cousin love.
💛 And Uncle Donnie’s big white barber’s chair that Lance has such fond laughter and smiles.

It was effortless joy. The kind of memories that stick to your soul and make you smile decades later.

Lance’s face lit up as he shared stories of being on the farm, teasing his cousins, and feeling the warmth of family all around.

The way they giggled and grinned, swapping memories of childhood mischief—you could see just how deep the love ran in this family. Even in the sorrow of loss, there was so much joy in remembering.  These are good people, GODLY men and women. The kind of family that many of us could only dream of.  The kind that fairy tales are made from.  The kind that builds generational health.  This is the kind of family every chid deserves, and every adult would long for.

That farm was more than land. It was more than just a place.

It is home. It is love. It is a legacy for this beautiful family.

And it will continue to be—because the stories, the traditions, and the love will never fade.

A Woman I Barely Knew, But One I Wish I Had Known Better

This is a woman I barely knew, but I know I would have loved sitting across from her, sipping tea, and soaking in her wisdom.

Even though I did not have the privilege of truly knowing her, I could feel her in every one of her children. In their words, their strength, and the way they carried her love in their hearts.

By the time we left, I felt like I had known her for years.

Her presence was still alive in the stories shared, the laughter echoed through memories, and the love that radiated from her family.

And as I sat there, I felt a deep sadness that I had not taken the time to know her better when I had the chance.

Life moves fast. We often assume there will always be more time—more moments to sit, listen, and learn from the people who have shaped the lives of those we love.

But time does not wait.

And this was a reminder to slow down, be present, and truly cherish those around us.

You Have the Power to Leave a Mark

I share this intimate, sacred moment with you because I want you to know:  THIS is the mark I want to leave for my family, my kids, and for everyone I coach.  This is a mark that will last for generations!

✨ YOU are leaving a mark.
✨ YOU have the power to build generational health.
✨ YOU can lead by example, showing those you love how to live fully—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
✨ YOU can create a legacy of love, faith, and health that will live on for generations.

But you cannot pour from an empty cup.

💛 Start with yourself.
💛 Love yourself first.
💛 Teach self-care, self-love, and self-respect.
💛 Honor the body, mind, and spirit that God has given you.

Because what you do today shapes the generations of tomorrow.

This is my WHY. This is my purpose.

Together, we can leave a mark. A mark that matters.
