If you’re searching for how to start keto, chances are you’re looking for something more than another diet.
Maybe you’ve tried losing weight before.
Maybe you’re dealing with inflammation, diabetes, chronic pain, brain fog, hormone changes, or simply feeling like you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way.
I’ve been there.
As a breast cancer survivor, Certified Primal Health Coach, Dr. Boz Keto Coach, and someone who spent years rebuilding my own health, I’ve learned one lesson that changed everything.
Healing isn’t about finding another diet.
It’s about creating an internal environment where your body has the opportunity to heal.
At Journey to Healing, we call that building your Keto Chemistry.
Why Most People Struggle to Start Keto
Most people begin by asking:
“What foods can I eat?”
While food matters, I believe there’s an even better question.
“What am I trying to accomplish?”
If your goal is simply eating fewer carbohydrates, you’ll spend your time searching for keto versions of the foods you’re trying to replace.
But if your goal is creating an internal chemistry that supports healing, your entire perspective changes.
That’s why I teach something a little different.
Carnivore Mindset with a Keto Chemistry.
Around here, we have what I call a Carnivore Mindset with a Keto Chemistry.
The mindset helps simplify our daily food choices. Calming the chaos.
The chemistry is the result we’re working toward.
When we consistently nourish our bodies with foods that support healing, our chemistry begins to change.
That chemistry—not another diet—is what we’re after.
Calm the Chaos Before You Change Everything
One of the biggest reasons people fail isn’t because keto doesn’t work.
It’s because life feels overwhelming.
Too many recipes.
Too many opinions.
Too many supplements.
Too many conflicting voices.
Before long, healthy living becomes stressful.
That’s why I created our 10-Day Clean Up.
Simplicity Creates Success
For ten days, we intentionally calm the chaos with our Live 10-Day Clean Up
We simplify the food.
We reduce decision fatigue.
We stop chasing perfection.
We begin building healthy habits that support a lifetime of healing.
Because healing doesn’t happen from one perfect meal.
It happens through thousands of intentional choices.
One meal.
One day.
One decision at a time.
Your Keto-Mojo Is the GPS for Your Journey
Your Keto-Mojo is your GPS. 🧭When you stop guessing and start checking, your numbers become your roadmap. Your glucose and ketone readings tell you when to stay the course, when to make a small adjustment, and when it’s time to pivot. Every test gives you another piece of the story and helps you build the chemistry that supports lasting healing.
One of the tools I use personally—and encourage all of my coaching students to use—is the Keto-Mojo.
Not because I’m obsessed with numbers.
Because I’m passionate about clarity.
I often tell my students:
Your Keto-Mojo is the GPS for your health journey.
Your glucose and ketone numbers aren’t there to judge you.
They’re there to guide you.
Sometimes your body says,
“Keep going.”
Sometimes it says,
“It’s time to make a small adjustment.”
That’s valuable information.
You’re the Driver
One of the most important things I want my students to understand is this:
You’re in the driver’s seat.
This is your life.
Your health.
Your journey.
My role isn’t to take the wheel.
I’m simply riding alongside you as your coach.
Your Keto-Mojo becomes the GPS.
Together, we learn how to read the map.
If life throws a detour…
We don’t quit.
We don’t shame ourselves.
We simply recalculate and keep moving toward healing.
That’s what coaching should feel like.
For students who choose to connect their Keto-Mojo to my Patient Dashboard, I can review their readings in or between classes, celebrate progress, recognize patterns, and help them make thoughtful, data-driven decisions based on what’s actually happening inside their body.
We don’t guess.
We test.
Because your numbers don’t define you.
They guide you.
Why Our Family Is Starting Again
This next Live 10-Day Clean Up is especially meaningful to our family.
Our thirteen-year-old grandson, Maddox, has recently begun experiencing seizures.
As his Nana, one of the greatest gifts I can give him is helping him return to the healthy lifestyle our family has practiced before.
We’re simplifying our meals.
Returning to the basics.
Checking our chemistry with Keto-Mojo.
Working alongside his healthcare team.
Supporting his brain health by building the metabolic chemistry that gives his brain the best opportunity to thrive through intentional nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
His journey reminds all of us that we don’t have the luxury of “kind of” working on our health.
Sometimes life reminds us to return to what matters most.
This journey isn’t only for Maddox.
It’s for anyone who’s ready to begin again.
This Isn’t Just About Maddox
While this story is about my grandson, the truth is this journey isn’t just about seizures.
It’s about the grandmother trying to avoid diabetes.
The husband recovering from a heart attack.
The woman who’s heard the words, “You have cancer.”
The person living with neuropathy, fatty liver, hormone struggles, brain fog, obesity, or simply feeling like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way.
It’s about every family searching for hope after being told, “This is just something you’ll have to live with.”
That’s why Journey to Healing exists.
I believe God designed our bodies with an incredible ability to heal when we begin giving them what they need. While no one can promise a cure, I have had the privilege of watching hundreds of people improve their health as they begin addressing the root causes of metabolic dysfunction instead of only chasing symptoms.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to watch hundreds of student begin rebuilding their health. Every story is different, but they all started with one decision – to begin. If you’d like to read some of those stories, you’ll find many of them here in my success story section.
Their stories remind me every day that this journey isn’t just about food—it’s about rebuilding a life.
That is why I continue to teach.
That is why I continue to coach.
Because hope is worth sharing.
This is why I do what I do. ❤️When life changes in an instant, I don’t panic—I go back to the basics. As Maddox’s Nana, one of the greatest gifts I can give him is to walk beside him, help him rebuild healthy habits, and remind him that hope and health is always worth fighting for.
Healing is a journey, and no one should have to walk it alone.
Walking This Journey Together
Sometimes words aren’t enough.
This video captures one small moment in our family’s journey as Maddox and I check our Keto-Mojo numbers together and begin returning to the healthy habits we’ve practiced before.
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about hope.
It’s about beginning again.
I hope our family’s story encourages yours.
