Some journeys of healing inspire us so deeply they become a light for everyone walking the path. That’s exactly who Deb is a fellow Dr. Boz Coach, addiction coach, survivor, and now author, Deb’s story is one of perseverance against impossible odds. Through the battle of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (inherited emphysema) ~ a terminal lung disease ~ she has shown what is possible when faith, nutritional ketosis, and relentless courage meet.

Our Connection ~ Warrior Sisters on the Keto Journey

Deb and I share more than coaching, friendship, and faith. We share the sobering reality of being diagnosed in our mid-30s with deadly diseases and finding a passion to live.  Both of us know what it feels like to stare down a ticking clock, to be told survival is unlikely, and to make the choice to fight anyway.

I first met Deb when she was in my very first group I coached through Dr Boz’s Course: Brains…From Trauma to Repair.  We both were ladies on a mission to find, repair, and build healthy brains after disease and addictions. Deb is also an addiction coach, so we instantly clicked.

Before we had actually connected personally, we both found our path to Dr Boz out of desperation, and willingness to have an open mind, and the determination to live. By God’s grace, and through the discipline of nutritional ketosis with Dr. Boz’s Consistently Keto program, we are both here today ~ thriving, not just surviving. This bond has made us true warrior sisters, linked by the fight to rebuild health and the calling to help others do the same. Giving survivors inspiration, direction and hope.

Living with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency

Deb’s health journey has been marked by immense battles. Diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency in 1994, she faced a terminal lung condition that made even daily life uncertain. With God’s help, her illness went into remission in 2006, only to resurface after COVID-19 in 2021.

Deb's Before Dr BozInstead of giving up, Deb made a powerful choice. On October 22, 2021, she picked up Anyway You Can by Dr. Annette Bosworth (“Dr. Boz”) ~ and everything changed. She embraced the ketogenic lifestyle, not as another diet, but as a lifeline, a survival guide and a beacon of hope. Through clean, consistent ketosis, Deb has quieted her food addiction, stabilized her health, and gained the strength to keep going. Defying all odds and living life to its fullest.  She is a force to be reconned with and an inspiration to anyone she meets.

Healing Body and Spirit Through Ketosis

What makes Deb’s story remarkable isn’t just her physical healing ~ it’s her spiritual renewal and her tenacity to do what it takes. She discovered that nurturing her body into ketosis, also nurtured her spirit. The food obsession was silenced. The cycle of addiction was broken. She could finally breathe, both physically and spiritually, with clarity and peace.

Her perseverance through nutritional ketosis is proof of what’s possible for anyone facing disease, addiction, or despair. She has a spirit that is palpable when you meet her.

From the Pit to Peace

Deb also writes candidly about grief ~ losing her daughter, Alaina, and living under the shadow of sorrow for 13 years. But God stepped in.

As she writes, “What was once a graveyard of sorrow became a garden of grace.”

Her book reveals how gratitude and faith transformed her grief into peace, just as ketosis transformed her health into hope.

Your Daily Dose: Food, Faith, and Freedom

Now Deb is sharing her testimony with the world in her new book, Your Daily Dose: Food, Faith, and Freedom. It’s an invitation to walk alongside her through themes of resilience, love, change, and divine connection.

This book is more than her story — it’s a guide for anyone ready to break free from food addiction, restore health, and lean on God through the journey.  This is 366 Days of  “Point to Ponder” ~ “Problem to Solve” ~ “Encouragement” ~ and a daily “Prayer“.  A daily devotional we can all live by and start our day out with direction and focus.
