The holidays are over.

The noise has settled.
The routines are gone.
And for many people, what’s left behind is exhaustion — not motivation.

For me, this season has been especially heavy.

I’m coming out of the holidays while also walking through the loss of my mother. Grief has a way of scrambling your nervous system, your focus, and even your body. Some days feel foggy. Some days feel heavy. And some days, it’s hard to tell whether you’re tired from life… or from carrying too much for too long.

And yet — healing still asks us to move forward.

Not aggressively.
Not perfectly.
But intentionally.

That’s where I am right now.
And maybe that’s where you are too.

You’re Not Failing — You’re Overstimulated

One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves this time of year is:

ā€œI just need more willpower.ā€

But the truth is, most people don’t need more willpower —
they need less chaos.

After holidays, stress, illness, grief, or even just a busy season of life, the body and brain are overwhelmed. Too many decisions. Too much food noise. Too many emotions competing for attention.

This isn’t a character flaw.
It’s chemistry.

When your nervous system is overloaded, your body doesn’t respond well to big plans or extreme changes. It responds best to simplicity, structure, and safety.

Healing doesn’t start with punishment.
It starts with calming the chaos.

Survivorship Looks Different Than We Were Taught

When people hear the word survivor, they often think of one specific event.

But most of us are survivors of something:

  • modern medicine

  • chronic stress

  • long-term medications

  • metabolic dysfunction

  • trauma

  • caregiving exhaustion

  • grief

  • or years of being told ā€œthis is just how it is nowā€

I’m a cancer survivor — but I’m also a survivor of what came after cancer. The medications. The pain. The neuropathy. The years of trying to function in a body that no longer felt like home.

Healing didn’t come from doing everything at once.

It came from learning how to reset, over and over again, without shame.

Why I Use a 10 Day Clean Up (Again and Again)

Anytime life knocks me off center, I don’t start with ambition.

I start with a reset.

A 10 Day Clean Up is how I:

  • calm food noise

  • simplify decisions

  • clean up my environment

  • stabilize my chemistry

  • and get my mind and body moving in the same direction again

Not as a diet.
Not as punishment.
But as preparation.

This reset is repeatable.
It’s flexible.
And it works whether you’re coming off the holidays… or coming out of grief.

Right now, this 10 Day Clean Up is exactly what I need to refocus and prepare my body for deeper healing work.

This Is Not a Replacement — It’s Preparation

I want to be very clear about something important.

I am not doing this 10 Day Clean Up instead of the 21DMK with Dr Boz.

I am doing this reset so I can be better prepared for it.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the body responds best to deep metabolic work when:

  • the environment is simplified

  • food noise is reduced

  • stress is lowered

  • routines are stabilized

When chaos is high, the body resists change.
When chaos is calmed, the body is ready to heal.

The 10 Day Clean Up is how I prepare my body, my home, and my mindset so that when I step into the 21DMK, I can get the absolute best response possible.

This reset doesn’t replace the work.
It supports it.

It’s the difference between:

  • jumping into deep water unprepared

  • versus entering steady, focused, and ready

And that preparation matters — especially when you’re investing in your health.

Preparing for Deeper Healing – The 21 DMK with Dr Boz

Later this month, I’ll be stepping into the 21DMK with Dr. Annette Bosworth — a powerful, structured metabolic reset that I personally do twice a year. As a Dr Boz coach, and as a survivor, this 21DMK (21 Day Metabolic Kick) is the “kick” we all need.

But here’s something I’ve learned as a coach:

The better prepared your body and environment are before the 21DMK,
the better your response during it.

That’s why I always calm the chaos first.

The 10 Day Clean Up isn’t a replacement for the 21DMK — it’s preparation for it. It helps:

  • quiet inflammation

  • reduce cravings

  • simplify routines

  • stabilize electrolytes

  • and create mental clarity

So when deeper metabolic work begins, your body is ready to respond — not resist.

This Is Not a Resolution — It’s a Foundation

I’m not interested in New Year’s resolutions that disappear by February.

I’m interested in building foundations that last through hard seasons, grief, busy schedules, and real life.

The 10 Day Clean Up is not the end of healing — it’s the beginning of momentum.

It’s how we:

  • stop the excuses without self-shame

  • realign our environment with our goals

  • and move forward with clarity instead of chaos

This is how I’m starting this year — with intention, honesty, and grace.

And if you’re ready to do the same, I’d love to walk it with you.
