A day of worship, rest and family. We served at church today. Getting to greet our church family is always a great start to the day. The sermon Pastor Kirt shared today just hit us all in the feels today. It was one of those days where we thought the lesson was just for us. Talk about feeling like a direct message from God, this one definitely one of those days.
We were able to stop and visit my momma at the nursing home, which still feels so weird and emotional. My daddy is trying to stay strong, but she just wants to come home. This is so hard on my dad, as he is not used to telling my momma no. Lol. Their love still feeds my soul, showing me what true love is. This is love and dedication at its finest.
We had family dinner after we returned home from church and visiting momma. My dad and Duke (my son-in-law) came for dinner. It feels good to sit around the table and share stories of love and laughter from memories past. Since we are getting back on our health journey, we kept it simple with a few health-friendly treats in the meal. This is a much bigger menu than Lance and I usually have during the week, but we enjoy doing this on family dinner nights. Truly a day of worship, rest and family.
The menu:
- Beef Roast
- Fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and olive oil & balsamic vinegar
- Simple salad with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, asiago cheese, and homemade dressing using Big Horn Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar our favorite, you can order here.
- Fizzy SodaStream water with a splash of homemade vanilla and a drop of stevia for a treat (it tastes like cream soda)!
My glucose was high this morning, so this meal is going to be the last meal of extras until I get my glucose down. This is much higher than I ever want it to be. This just proves to me it is time to focus and do what I need to do. Although our meals have not been horrible or way off track, they are too much for my chemistry to handle. I need to tighten up my eating window and get my carb count much lower. Intermittent fasting is ready to begin!!! I can do this. This journey is not always easy, but it is so worth it.
Health Stats:
- BG: 115
- BK: 0.6
- DBR: 192 (NOT good)
Goals for the week:
- Get my glucose and DBR down into the healing range.
- Closing my eating window by 2-3 pm
Let’s do this!
How are YOU starting you week?
❤️ Tammie
